So, dreamwidth was a fork by some LJ developers back in 2008.

They can import LJ, and I've done so at http://xaminmo.dreamwidth.org

I do not know what I think yet. Too early. They are limited in some ways.

So, I'm here because a friend is here.

But, I don't know what I think.
I have a lot of history at Livejournal.
xaminmo: (Josh 2014)
I've had a rename token for years, and finally cashed it in.
jdsdavis was not free (squatter), but joshdavis was.

So, going to generic.livejournal.com, or xaminmo@livejournal.com, now goes to joshdavis.livejournal.com.

In theory, all of my friends, and posts, should be here. Just a rename, not a move.

I'm getting old. :p

Rode to Downing MS for the 7:30 TX Flyers ride. Then did the 9am TX Flyers ride for Coffee at 377. Then rode over and met the Pathfinders at Parker Square for Italian. Then with the PF over to Braums on Kirkwood. Then rode back home, most of the way with them. Looped around the block once because I was SO CLOSE to 60 miles. Made it! WOOT!

PS, IT WAS HARD! I was glad for the slower pace of the Pathfinders, even though it blew my overall average speed. Humidity sucked. Only once did I lose sight of the TXF riders, and most of the time I was somewhere in the group.

I got home as it started to sprinkle, and just before the downpour.

1: It is Le Hard.
2: Yes, yes it is.
1: I just can't lose weight!
2: Incorrect. You don't want to lose weight.
1: Yes I do! I want to not have this fat!
2: That is not the same. Wanting the weight to not be there is not the same as wanting to lose the weight.
1: Ok, Mr. Smarty Pants, what is the magic trick?
2: Eat less than you burn, or burn more than you eat.
1: But when I do that, I don't lose weight!
2: Then you didn't do that. You ate less but burned less.
1: But if I eat that much less, then I am HUNGRY. I can't do it.
2: Incorrect. You are choosing not to do it because it is difficult.
1: I hate you. You lie.
2: Shoosh. Get back on the bike.
1: Grumble. Self, you are no fun.
2: Shoosh. Get going. That fat isn't going to burn itself away with what YOU had for lunch.
1: Fine. Whatever. *exercises*

Brainz!

Dear Everyone,
Just because I don't remember it doesn't mean I think it didn't happen. Even if I ask questions and try to verify. Also, when I make THAT face, I don't think you're wrong or stupid. It's my thinking face. I'm just trying to find out where in my brain the disconnect happened, and thinking is PAINFUL!

Best for me:
* Glide brand floss, EVERY NIGHT BEFORE BRUSHING - Helps gum sensitivity.
* Manual toothbrush - Sonic didn't help gums.
* Arm and Hammer Toothpaste - Average 1mm gum line improvement at every tooth.
* Ignore any whitening claims - None of them work.

Whitening products don't help me:
* My teeth are slightly translucent, and slightly yellow.
* I tried home trays, strips, whitening toothpaste and whitening mouthwash.
* None of these had any measurable change in my enamel color.

Sonic Toothbrush doesn't benefit me:
* A year of use, and I had a piece chip off near a fissure.
* I had a further 1mm gum recession while using
* Switching back to manual coincided with 1mm improvement + shorter pro cleaning.

Flossing matters a lot.
* Gum sensitivity, bleeding and redness all went away after a year of daily flossing.
* Flossing only 50% of the time is no different than only flossing for popcorn.
* Flossing 99% of the time makes a big difference.

Mouthwash doesn't seem to make a difference:
* Restoring mouthwash (high fluoride content) doesn't help tiny cracks
* High fluoride mouthwash coincided with extra tartar
* Most have too much saccharine, which tastes sweet and odd in the morning.

Toothpaste brand makes a huge difference:
* Rembrandt toothpaste left a lot of plaque, tartar, etc for the hygienist.
* Rembrandt had quality control issues and poor shelf life
* Crest didn't feel clean after.
* Crest left an odd, sweet flavor in the morning.
* Arm & Hammer feels clean and scrubby.
* Arm & Hammer coincides with 1mm improved gum line.
* Arm & Hammer improvement even after missing 20% of morning brushes for the month leading up to cleaning.

Dream

I woke up at 6:25 for my 6:30 alarm.
I had an argument with myself, and I lost.
It went something like this.
"Don't lay back down."
"But I am Le Tired."
"Get up."
"F... You. I'm going to sleep. You'll wake up when you wake up."
As such, I woke up 5 minutes ago from a very strange dream.

I was talking to a Network Appliance salesman.
We had no budget, so I was asking him what kind of cheap SATA storage I could add.
I showed him what we had already, something about a raid controller, bridged SATA ports, external I/O.
Then there was something bad, and we had to run.
Then a school, maps, etc but noone was there.
Then I was in someone's media room / den / second family room and lots of kids were there.
Then a wound on my right foot, that was getting bigger. It was huge.
Then a wound on my hand that was deep enough I could see light through the skin on the other side.
I had to put a piece of ham in each one to fill the space while it healed.
I had to keep my foot and my hand curled up to keep pressure on it so the skin would fuse.

So now, I'm up... I need to cook breakfast. It's odd how when you're cooking for 1, you go through food SO MUCH SLOWER and there's so much leftovers. I have to be careful not to have too much cooked up at once.

"Dr. Aron and Gary W. Lewandowski Jr., a professor at Monmouth University in New Jersey, have studied how individuals use a relationship to accumulate knowledge and experiences, a process called 'self-expansion.' Research shows that the more self-expansion people experience from their partner, the more committed and satisfied they are in the relationship."

Props to Susan for the link.

I followed matt's link - there were some 1000 anagrams.

I put my name in and it came up with only three.

JIHAD VOSS
DAVIS JOSH
VIDAS JOSH

I mean, wtf. I always would just to backwards: Hsoj Sivad.

I guess I'll put in my other 2 names, but that will probably break the system. :)

Wow, less than matt's, but still a good number.

I'm dumping this to my server so I can do grep and such on it.
